Our Jail and Prison Ministry is designed to provide assistance to the incarcerated during their transition. Special emphasis are placed on substance and alcohol abuse, offering a 12 week program that teaches restoration to all that are willing. Weekly meetings are required where various speakers present a part of the 12 step recovery program. Rev. Joanne Cook-Harris services as the director providing ongoing counseling and mentorship with eight years of experience. The assistant director of the program is Rev. Sterling Terrell who is on e of the associate ministers at STMBC. Other staff members are; Minister Niecy Deroson who provides spiritual encouragement and ministers through Songs of praises. Rev. John Ellis, Attorney General provides knowledge and encouragement from a judicial view. A member from the AIDS Foundation speaks about the faces of sickness, contracting diseases that could cause death. Shawntell Lewis-Harrell is a Christian Education Sales Consultant that conducts workshops twice a month. Each of the workshops are centered towards, becoming a better man/father, changing attitudes and anger management. |
